It is a savory Japanese pancake made with various ingredients such as cabbage, pork, seafood, and noodles, grilled to perfection on a hot plate.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

Visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a significant historical site commemorating the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. A memorial park dedicated to the legacy of Hiroshima as the first city in the world to suffer a nuclear attack at the end of World War II, and to the memories of the bomb’s direct and indirect victims.

Itsukushima Shrine

Enjoy a scenic ferry ride across the Seto Inland Sea to reach Miyajima Island. Explore Itsukushima Shrine, one of Japan’s most famous and iconic Shinto shrines, known for its “floating” torii gate and stunning ocean views. It is partially submerged at high tide. It marks the entrance to the Itsukushima Shrine, which was first built in the 12th century.

Sandankyo Gorge

Located in northwestern Akiota, the 16-kilometer gorge along the Shibaki River is a part of Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi Quasi-National Park and has been designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. The rumbling of rushing water vibrates through your chest. Sunlight spills through the trees, reflecting on the water. The joy of breathing with nature fills your body. It’s an unforgettable experience.

Kumamoto Castle

A hilltop Japanese castle located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto. The castle keep is a concrete reconstruction built in 1960 and is famous for sakura sightings.

Kusasennri

Kusasennri is a stunning grassy plain nestled within the vast caldera of Mount Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture. This flat, volcanic surface features two seasonal rainfed ponds, bordered by grazing horses and cattle, a picturesque scene enhanced by the backdrop of steaming Nakadake Peak.

Suizenji Park

A traditional Japanese landscape garden located in Kumamoto, Japan. The garden features a central pond, tea houses, manicured trees, and seasonal flowers, offering a peaceful and picturesque retreat that reflects classic Japanese aesthetics.

Unzen Ropeway

Glover Gardens

Nagasaki’s foremost tourist attraction, Glover Gardens, is an open-air museum featuring mansions and residences of the city’s former foreign residents. It is located on the hill where Western merchants settled down after the end of Japan’s era of seclusion in the second half of the 19th century.

Nagasaki Peace Park

After the atomic bomb exploded, it was said that grass and trees would not grow on this spot for 75 years. However, this park is currently full of trees, flowers, and artworks donated by countries all over the world in support of the city’s prayer for peace. The Peace Statue, a symbol of Nagasaki as a city of peace, was created by sculptor Seibo Kitamura, a Nagasaki native.

Huis Ten Bosch

A theme park that recreates the Netherlands by displaying life-sized copies of old Dutch buildings. Yutoku Inari Shrine

A visually stunning Shinto shrine nestled into the foothills of Kashima City in Saga Prefecture. It holds the distinction of being one of Japan’s three major Inari shrines.

Yanagawa

Go on a scenic river cruise along the tranquil waterways of the Yanagawa Canal. Yanagawa “Kawakudari” (going downstream) is a punt tour of the waterways ramified across the city like a mesh, including the old castle’s moat. The wide and narrow waterway network spans a total length of about 470km, forming a unique landscape of the water district called Suigo.
